More than 600 pounds of marijuana seized at Texas-Mexico border

BROWNSVILLE, Texas -- U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers found nearly 300 packages of marijuana hidden within farm equipment on a flatbed trailer.

According to a press release, the truck was stopped at the Veterans' International Bridge on Friday.

The marijuana weighed in at 613.6 pounds and carries an estimated street value of $614,000.

The driver of the truck, a 29-year-old man, was turned over to Homeland Security Investigations.
