AUSTIN -- A group of Texas A&M University students was caught red-handed drawing A&M logos on the University of Texas campus last weekend.

According to the UT Police Department's Campus Crime Watch, officers responded to reports of several people in maroon shirts writing with chalk on a building in the UT Main Mall around 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 14.

UT police said one of the students admitted to officers he had used chalk to draw large A&M logos on different campus buildings.

He said he and nine other students were pledging the Sigma Lambda Beta fraternity at A&M and this "scavenger hunt" was part of their initiation ritual.

The student added that for extra points, he needed to get his photo taken with police.

The 10 students were issued Criminal Trespass warnings. The student who spoke with police was issued a court appearance citation for criminal mischief.
