McKINNEY, Texas — McKinney police said three children who were abducted by their non-custodial father Tuesday afternoon were recovered in Terrell late Tuesday night.
Earlier, police issued an Amber Alert for Calvin Lincecum, 33, who took his biological children — Yesenia Lincecum, 5; Calvin Lincecum, 4; and three-year-old Yaretzi Lincecum.
The children had last been seen around 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Police told News 8 that Lincecum had been with his children at their home with a babysitter on Tuesday afternoon when he was served with legal documents ordering him to stay away from the youngsters.
Lincecum then allegedly grabbed the children and drove away. Family members told police he might be on his way to Louisiana, where he has family.
The childrens' uncle, Victor Toral, was at home at the time they were abducted.
"I thought he was taking them to the store, but apparently he kidnapped them," Toral said.
Toral confirmed that the couple had been in the process of getting a divorce.
"He always had problems with the kids and with his wife, like violence and that kind of stuff," Toral said. "It's not right for the kids to have to go through that."
The senior Lincecum surrendered all three children to police in Terrell and turned himself in. The kids were said to be safe.
Records indicate Lincecum has a criminal history in both Oklahoma and Texas.
