SAN ANTONIO -- A University of Texas-San Antonio baseball player was arrested Monday and charged with burglary.
According to his arrest warrant, 22-year-old Daniel Rockett and three other men forced their way into a 21-year-old man's apartment on Sunday night.
Rockett allegedly banged on the victim's door until one of his roommates answered. That's when San Antonio police said he barged in and went to the victim's room.
Rockett allegedly began punching the victim as he was curled on the floor. The group apparently left when they realized police were on their way.
The victim was treated on scene for pain in his neck and back. The victim and his roommates are members of the UTSA track team and recognized the Rockett and his friends as members of the baseball team.
The victim told police Rockett was angry because he is dating his ex-girlfriend.
Rockett was booked into the Bexar County Jail and later released on a $20,000 bond.
