AUSTIN — An off-duty Capital Metro driver shot and killed himself with a gun on board an Austin city bus Tuesday evening.
The incident took place in the 3100 block of Red River around 8:40 p.m., not long after President Obama departed the city following a whirlwind visit.
There were four passengers on board the bus at the time of the shooting. No one else was injured.
The driver's name was not released.
Capital Metro held a briefing to discuss the incident at 10:15 p.m.
