HOUSTON – Pinterest fans, rejoice! The photo-based social network announced earlier this week it finally has apps for Android and iPad users.

For the unfamiliar: Pinterest is a fun, addictive website that lets users share or “pin” their favorite recipes, cars, clothing, home décor ideas, etc. The main method for sharing these ideas is through photos.

The posts on Pinterest are called “pins,” similar to how posts on Twitter are called “tweets.”

Prior to this week, you could only use Pinterest on their regular website or on an iPhone. Despite this, the website became very popular, attracting millions of users around the world.

(Yes, you could use the iPhone app on the iPad, but the images were blown up and low quality.) With thelaunch of the new apps comes a redesign for the iPhone app.

All of the apps have three to five columns of photos in any given category—depending on how you hold your device—horizontal or vertical.

To browse, you just have to pick a category: from animals, art, food, and entertainment—some of the best ideas and best photos in the world are here and yours for the browsing.
