ROSENBERG, Texas—Fort Bend County officials were giving out free swine flu vaccines Thursday, but they were reserved only for pregnant women. That’s because at the start of the day, officials only had about 60 doses left. They asked pregnant women who want a vaccination to go to the Fort Bend County Health and Human Services building at 4520 Reading Road in Rosenberg. They will be administering the shots there from 1 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Veterans can also get free H1N1 shots this weekend at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center on Holcombe. The vaccines will be offered drive-through style from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Meanwhile, the Houston health department said more swine flu shots are on the way. Until the new shipment comes, the few hundred remaining does will be given only to pregnant women and kids over the age of four who have underlying health problems. Still, officials said there are plenty of nasal spray doses available.
