South Texas blast leaves three hurt

VANDERBILT, Texas – Three men were injured in an explosion outside the town of Vanderbilt, which is just south of Victoria. It happened about 9 a.m. Thursday.
The Jackson County Shieriff’s Office says that the crew was dismantling an old gas refinery when a blow torch touched off a pocket of gas.
One man suffered burns over most of his body. He was airlifted to UTMB in Galveston.
Two other men suffered second and third degree burns over 45 percent of their bodies.
The men worked for RCS Demolition out of Midland.
Vanderbilt is about 75 miles southwest of Houston.
