LUFKIN, Texas — A grand jury indicted two former East Texas teachers Thursday for allegedly having sex with their students.
Melissa Beth Williams, 41, and Clark Lewing, 24, were arrested in April after being accused of having an improper relationship between an educator and a student. Both are out of jail on bond, The Lufkin Daily News reported in its online edition.
Lewing was also indicted on a charge of sexual assault of a child. He is accused of having sex with a 14-year-old girl when he was a teacher at Hudson High School in Lufkin. A telephone listing for Lewing could not be found.
Williams was a teacher at Huntington Pride alternative school in Huntington when she allegedly had sex with a 17-year-old boy.
Her attorney, Ryan Deaton, has said she is not guilty, the newspaper reported. An after hours call to Deaton’s office by The Associated Press was not immediately returned. A telephone listing for Williams could not be found.
Lufkin and Huntington are both about 115 miles northeast of Houston.
