Former Pittsburgh Steeler, TSU player killed on car accident

A one-car accident in Beaumont has left a former member of the Pittsburgh Steelers dead.

Ernie Holmes
Ernie Holmes died Thursday night following the accident on Highway 69 near Colonia Drive.
He was 59.
Holmes played football at Texas Southern University.
He’s best known for his years with the Steelers.
He played for them from 1972 through 1977.
The defensive lineman was part of the famous Steel curtain.
