SAN ANTONIO—Trinity University officials say a half-dozen rifles and guns were found in a campus dorm room over the weekend.

They say the student who had the guns has been barred from the San Antonio campus but isn’t considered dangerous.
Trinity spokeswoman Sharon Jones Schweitzer says university staff members were performing room checks when they discovered the weapons Saturday after the residence halls were closed for winter break. Schweitzer says the weapons were in “plain view.” Campus police called the San Antonio police, who confiscated the weapons.
Schweitzer said the student, whom she didn’t identify, is cooperating with an investigation.
Trinity University is a liberal arts and sciences university with about 2,500 students.
