Officer accused of sex assault, kidnapping

GEORGETOWN, Texas -- A Georgetown police officer has been indicted on charges of sexually assaulting a woman at gunpoint while he was on duty.
Jimmy Lewis Fennell Jr. is being held in the Williamson County Jail with bail set at $250,000.
A Williamson County grand jury indicted Fennell yesterday on felony charges of aggravated sexual assault, aggravated kidnapping and improper sexual activity with a person in custody. He was also charged with official oppression.
The alleged crimes allegedly occurred October 26th when Fennell responded to a domestic disturbance call.
Fennell has been on paid administrative leave pending an internal affairs investigation. He’s worked for the Georgetown police for nine years.
