Governor appoints 3 new TSU regents

Gov. Rick Perry appointed three new regents for Texas Southern University on Thursday, one of whom is in Houston.
Tracye McDaniel is the chief operating officer of the Greater Houston Partnership. Her term as member of the school's board of regents will expire Feb. 1, 2009.
Samuel Lee Bryant owns an investment group in Austin, and he serves on that city's Boys and Girls Club. His term will expire Feb. 1, 2011.
Curtistene McCowan was a senior investigator at the FTC's Southwest Regional Office for 32 years. She is now a member of the DeSoto ISD Board of Trustees. Her term will also expire in 2009.
All of the appointments will take effect Oct. 29.
