Perry signs dating violence law

It is official; Governor Rick Perry signed a new law on Thursday.

It states that law enforcement officials do not have a warrant to arrest someone suspected of dating violence.

Dating violence is now in the same category as family violence of which the second offense is a felony which carries stiffer penalties.
