Police said a Chevrolet Suburban was traveling southbound when its driver ran a red light and broadsided an ambulance. The ambulance flipped onto its side, and the two paramedics inside were sent to the hospital in stable condition.
A six-month-old baby in the Suburban was in a child seat and did not appear to suffer any serious injuries, but he or she was sent to the hospital to get checked out.
The SUV’s driver was arrested at the scene, police said.
“It’s a felony DWI because there’s a child inside the vehicle, but because of the possible injuries it could also be upgraded,” said Sgt. S. Sorge with HPD.
