HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -– A driver crashed his Dodge Viper at a high rate of speed near Tomball overnight, deputies said.

The crash happened just before 3 a.m. Friday on Boudreaux at Sharon Pkwy, according to deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the driver was traveling eastbound when he lost control, spun around, and then skidded off the roadway. The vehicle struck a telephone pole and flipped back into the roadway upside down.

The passenger suffered an injury to his ankle and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Authorities said the driver’s injuries were more serious, and Life Flight took him to the hospital in critical condition.

No other vehicles were involved in the wreck.
