HOUSTON – A truck left a north Houston roadway and smashed through a fence before hitting an apartment complex, causing extensive damage early Friday.
The Houston Police Department said the crash happened on Interstate 45 near Robert Lee Road around 2:30 a.m.
Officers said the pickup truck, a Chevrolet Silverado, left the I-45 frontage road and hit the apartments. Views from Air 11 showed heavy damage to the stone wall of a first floor unit.
The driver of the truck was taken into custody, police said.
No serious injuries were reported, although two people inside the apartment were checked out at the hospital, a neighbor said. The neighbor said shattered glass fell on the tenants as they slept.
The same neighbor said this is the second time an incident like this has happened, although the previous crash was not as severe.
