SEATTLE - A pair of young fans at Thursday's game between the Seattle Mariners and New York Yankees at Safeco Field got the red carpet treatment -- then got an even bigger surprise.

Brother and sister Solden and Seville Stoll, ages 9 and 7, didn't know that their father, Army Lt. Colonel Kevin Stoll, was coming home after a 12-month tour in the Gulf region.

Stoll and his wife, Jennifer, set up the surprise with the Mariners help. Jennifer and the kids were brought out onto a red carpet and introduced as part of Major League Baseball's "Salute to Those Who Serve" campaign, which recognizes military members and their families.

While they were distracted by the cameras, Lt. Col. Stoll came out of the Mariners dugout and surprised his children from behind. The crowd at Safeco Field cheered as Stoll made his way toward his family.

The Stolls live in Seattle.
