Photos: Kentucky school bus crashes, flips

Police and emergency crews in Kentucky responded to a crash Friday morning that flipped a loaded school bus on its side. Forty-five students were aboard the bus. A total of 47 people were transported to area hospitals. Officials said six of the students with serious but none life-threatening injuries were taken to Kosair Children's Hospital.

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky -- Police and emergency crews are working to clear the scene of a Jefferson County Public Schools bus accident near the Greenbelt Highway.

JCPS officials said bus #1250 was t-boned on Lower River Road at Moorman Road by a truck that ran a stop sign around 7 a.m. Friday morning, causing the bus to flip on to its side.

Forty-five students were aboard the bus headed for Frost Middle School. A total of 47 people were transported to area hospitals. Officials said six of the students with serious but none life-threatening injuries were taken to Kosair Children's Hospital.

Several parents said they are still waiting for information about their children and JCPS is asking parents of children involved in the accident to go the the Frost Middle School gym.
