VP Pence in Austin for Republican Governors Association conference

The vice president will attend the annual Republican Governors Association conference on Nov. 15.

Vice President Mike Pence will be in Austin on Wednesday to speak at the annual Republican Governors Association conference.

Wednesday marks the vice president’s second trip to the Lone Star State in November. Pence and his wife Karen were in Sutherland Springs following the Nov. 5 shooting to meet with families, the injured and law enforcement.

The conference is for Republican leaders to discuss policy priorities and 36 gubernatorial elections in 2018. Pence also headlined a fundraiser in Washington, D.C. on Nov. 13 for Gov. Greg Abbott’s re-election campaign.

Road closures are expected in Downtown Austin ahead of the vice president's arrival and departure. Be prepared for delays.
