HOUSTON—A state district judge with a record of controversy has resigned.
Judge Kevin Fine announced months ago that he would not seek re-election. He’s nearing the end of his four-year term.
Fine made headlines in 2010 when he said the death penalty was unconstitutional.
Fine is reportedly pursuing an out-of-state job that won’t be available if he waits until after the November election to step down.
