WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama on Thursday called a mass shooting at a Texas Army base "a horrific outburst of violence."

"We will make sure that we get answers to every single question about this horrible incident," the commander in chief said. "We are going to stay on this."

He said it’s a tragedy to lose a soldier overseas and even more horrifying when they come under fire at an Army base on American soil.

The Army says 12 people were killed and more than 30 wounded at the Army base at Fort Hood, Texas.

Obama also said his thoughts and prayers are with the wounded and families of the fallen.

Both U.S. Senators from Texas issued statements denouncing the mass shooting.

"I am shocked and saddened by today’s outburst of violence at Fort Hood that has cost [12] of our brave service members their lives and has gravely injured others," U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison said. "Our dedicated military personnel have sacrificed so much in service to our country, and it sickens me that the men and women of Fort Hood have been subjected to this senseless, random violence. I know all Americans share this concern for the soldiers and their families who are affected by this tragedy."

"My heart goes out to the victims of the tragedy that occurred today at Fort Hood, as well as their families," said U.S. Senator John Cornyn in a written statement. "Fort Hood is one of our nation’s finest and largest military installations, and a place that has long been a source of pride for Texans, and for all Americans who value the selfless service and sacrifice of our men and women in uniform.

There are American Muslims that want to kill their fellow Americans because of theMuslim religious beliefs. If Obama cares about his fellow citizens, he will drop the political correctness and start putting these people in jail. The F.B.I. has been investigating this guy for six months. Anyone that threatens Americans should go to jail no matter their religion.

However, the problem is making sure that we don't just start locking up people without proof or probable cause-I pray America turns back to God because if she doesn't then we will see more 9-11's and Fort Hood incidents.

"Obama on Thursday called a mass shooting at a Texas Army base "a horrific outburst of violence."" Yeah, but not before he gave a shout out to someone in the audience. Obama has made Jimmy Carter a very happy man.

Mr. President, this will be your ultimate test. I hope you handle this properly and effectively and openly with your fellow Americans. You have done such a poor job so far, but if you do not handle this the right way, Americans will never forgive you. Our soldiers and their families do not deserve this. In a way, this is like 9/11 all over again.

How can you compare one outraged lunatic killing 13 during Obama's administration to a well organized terrorist unit killing nearly 4000 during Bush's administration? Pure silliness. Your imagination will concoct any lie just to throw President Obama under a bus. Your leader, Obama, is doing a great job. We are out of the recession that Bush started. And why isn't Khou reporting the Texas sect leader's guilty verdict today?

Out of the recession. Hooray, guess I missed it. Obama is doing a terrible job and if he keeps it up he will destroy this country completely. How can you call 10.2% unemployment rate out of the recession. Dreamer.
