HOUSTON -- Mayor Annise Parker signed an executive order on Wednesday for the City of Houston to print public safety information and other materials in the five most common languages.

More than 100 languages are spoken in Houston.

Mayor Parker said the five languages selected will be decided in the next six months.

The goal is to make vital information available to more people.

Most information is currently available in English and Spanish.
