CEDAR CREEK, Texas -- GOP governors are blistering Democratic health care plans in Congress. They say the legislation will result in crippling costs to states already grappling with huge budget deficits in a recession. They’re urging their Democratic counterparts to publicly oppose the measures, too. They spoke during a Republican Governors Association conference near Austin, Texas, and laid out ideas for doing health care reform in a bipartisan way. They say legislation in Congress overreaches, and unfairly shifts costs to states. Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels calls cost descriptions of the bill fraudulent and says: "We all know a sucker play when we see one."
