AUSTIN, Texas -- Hundreds of students turned out for an immigration rally at the University of Texas.
The event on Wednesday was in response to a controversial game planned, then canceled, by the UT Young Conservatives.
The game, called "Catch an Illegal Immigrant," got the attention of the nation, including actress America Ferrera. She traveled to Austin for Wednesday's rally.
"In truth what they are doing are using tactics of fear and intimidation in creating a culture where we can't speak openly and productively about how to fix the problems facing this country," Ferrera said.
The Young Conservatives had planned to have students wear t-shirts with the words "Illegal Immigrant" and give out gift cards to anyone who caught them.
That game was supposed to take place Wednesday, but the group canceled the event.
