AUSTIN -- A proposal to ban texting while driving is speeding through the Texas Capitol.
The House Transportation Committee voted six to one in favor of a statewide ban.
Last session, Governor Perry vetoed a similar proposal, calling it government overreach.
The governor recently said his views have not changed.
