SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Former President Bill Clinton is in Texas, campaigning for two Democrats locked in close races for the U.S. House.

Clinton spoke to a raucous crowd in San Antonio, where Democratic congressional hopeful Pete Gallego (gah-YAY'-goh) is locked in one of the closest races in the country with Republican freshman U.S. Rep. Francisco "Quico" Canseco.

Next, Clinton was flying to Beaumont to appear at a ballpark rally on behalf of former Democratic U.S. Rep. Nick Lampson.

Lampson is trying to beat Republican state Rep. Randy Weber in a district that runs along the Gulf Coast and is currently represented by Ron Paul, who is retiring from Congress.
