Pasadena ISD mother accused of pointing gun at student

PASADENA, Texas - A mother is behind bars after allegedly pointing a gun at a Pasadena High School student.

Thirty three year old Viridiana Alvarez was arrested Tuesday for aggravated assault, according to police.

Right after school ended Tuesday, two female students apparently walked across the street from Pasadena High School to fight each other.

They were in a park with Alavarez, the mother of one of the students.

Alvarez pulled out a gun and pointed it at the student fighting her child, police said. In the meantime, witnesses saw the fight and notified the school's administration.

The campus administration then notified the Pasadena ISD Police Department. Police arrested Alvarez not long after.

A letter was sent out to parents of Pasadena High School students on Wednesday.

The letter notified parents of the incident and asked them to remind students when solving a problem, to look for alternatives to fighting.
