HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -- Emergency responders were called to a steel processing plant in north Harris County late Wednesday after they said a worker injured his hand on a piece of machinery.
It was around 10:30 p.m. when the Harris County Emergency Corp responded to a 911 call at Cyclone Steel on W. Greens at Champions Green.
Contrary to early reports that the worker had his hand pinned in a piece of equipment, a company spokesman said the ambulance was only called as a precaution. The worker was sent to the hospital and required only "stitches in his finger" and "suffered no extensive injuries."
The company noted its high safety standards and extremely low incident rate.
As per company policy, the company said Wednesday night's incident remains under investigation.
