KATY, TX – The new section of the Grand Parkway connecting I-10 to Highway 290 in Cypress will open Saturday, but a 2014 Corvette Stingray with a need for speed already gave it a test run.
The 700 HP Hennessey C7 was clocked at 200.6 mph thanks to a boost from the company’s products.
Officials from TxDOT, DPS and TransCore were there to witness the testing of the EZ tag toll system. The Corvette’s license plate was clearly photographed even at 200 mph.
Hennessey, located in Sealy, only plans to make 100 of the 2014 Corvettes. The YouTube video includes the message: “Closed course; Don’t try this at home.”
