NEEDVILLE, Texas -- One Houston-area vice principal had a rough night, but it was all for a good cause.
He spent the night on top of his school -- Needville Elementary.
Mr. Calbert was making good on a promise he made to students earlier in the year, that if if they collected more pennies to help leukemia patients than last year, he’d spend the night on the roof.
The kids needed $8,100, but they managed to raise more than $8,400 this year.
The principal set up a tent on a portion of the school’s roof. Mr. Calbert says the biggest problem was the bugs, but that didn’t keep the smile off his face while he made good on his promise.
