HOUSTON -- A University of Houston student said he was robbed at gunpoint Monday morning off campus, according to UH police.

The student told officials that he was approached by a black male in lot 20C and asked if he wanted to purchase iPhones at a discounted price. Police said the student agreed to buy the phones and drove with the suspect to an off campus location. That’s where the alleged robbery occurred and a black semi-automatic handgun was shown.

UH police describe the suspect as a black male, 290 pounds, about 5’8” with a moustache. He was last seen wearing a white jersey t-shirt and a white hat.

Officials describe the suspect’s vehicle as a white Chevrolet Tahoe or Suburban.

This incident is currently under investigation and anyone with information should contact the University of Houston Police Department at 713-743-3333.
