HOUSTON -- When a severe thunderstorm blew through southeast Houston Monday, it left its mark on Praise Court.
“It started off very small but the wind picked up lot of lot of lightning lot of thunder,” recalled Paul Ramdeen.
It’s believed a bolt of lightning struck a house in the 5600 block of Praise Court. Firefighters had to cut open the garage door to get in.
“When the last lightning struck, it went pow,” said Marvin Coleman. “So, I knew that it hit something.”
Neighbors heard so many noises as the storm passed over; they just knew someone on the street received damage.
“We saw it coming in through the chimney,” said Ramdeen. “So we ran over here and we called 911.”
The homeowner got quite the shock when she was turned around from a trip out of town, but was grateful that neighbors stepped up to help.
