HOUSTON—The International Quilt Festival handed out over $100,000 in prize money at the George R. Brown Convention Center and a Richardson, Texas woman walked away a huge winner.
Melissa Sobotka, the first Texans to win “Best in Show” in more than a decade, won $10,000.
The festival opens to the public on Wednesday at 7 p.m. and goes through the weekend. Sixty-thousand people are expected to attend.
It is open Thursday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
