TEXAS CITY — The air mattresses are lined up, the extra bottles of caffeinated drinks are in the fridge and the coupons are stacked and sorted. The management staff of Tanger Outlets is prepped for what promises to be a huge Black Friday weekend of pre-Christmas shopping.
Tanger Outlets’ grand opening might have been in October, but this weekend — starting Thanksgiving Day — is the 350,000-square-foot outlet center’s coming out party.
“We knew we wanted to open up in October and then four weeks later hit it again with Black Friday and the Christmas season,” said Aimee Braswell, the general manager for Tanger Outlets.
In many ways, every Friday has been a mini version of Black Friday, for the center.
