TEXAS CITY, Texas — A courtroom ruckus erupted Tuesday during a hearing in which a man pleaded guilty to a 2010 shooting and was sentenced to seven years in prison, authorities said.

Ronnie Lawrence Rhem, 22, pleaded guilty in Galveston’s 10th District Court to felony charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, Prosecutor Kristena Glenn said.

After the plea, a ruckus ensued and deputies removed a woman from the gallery, said Maj. Ray Tuttoilmondo, a Galveston County Sheriff’s Office spokesman. No injuries were reported.
