HOUSTON -- A suspect is in custody after leading police on a chase through southeast Houston Monday afternoon.
Houston police say around 2:45 p.m., officers began pursuing a suspect vehicle along the 12,000 block of MLK in southeast Houston.
Prior to the chase, the male suspect was trying to kick in the door of a nearby apartment. As police arrived, the suspect fled in a black Dodge Charger. He was driving erratically on MLK.
Officials say the chase lasted only a few minutes. It ended along the 9400 blcok of Cullen near Wenda, and the suspect was taken into custody.
During the chase, the suspect slammed his vehicle into a black Suburban. The female driver of the SUV, along with a child passenger were taken by ambulance to a local hospital. There’s no word on the extent of their injuries.
