HOUSTON—A Sugar Land boy’s skills in the kitchen landed him a visit to the White House Monday.
“It’s just mind blowing how long I’ve been waiting to come here,” said 9-year-old Michael Lakind.
He was one of just 54 kids chosen from across the nation for the first-ever Kids’ State Dinner.
They were chosen because of their healthy and tasty recipes. Lakind’s “Secret Service Super Salad” was a big hit.
