HOUSTON—Students in Sealy will return to class Tuesday after weekend rain flooded two schools.
Cleaning crews were on both campuses Monday, working to get Selman Intermediate and Sealy Junior High School back to normal.
Rain seeped under the doors, ruining carpet and other items on the floors.
While, both campuses will reopen, eight classrooms in both schools will not be ready until Wednesday.
“We’re having to replace a lot of carpets, sheet rock. Very few computers though, we were very lucky in that situation. But it’s just an enormous amount of water to clean up and just devastating to see that type of stuff in an area you work and where kids are,”said Sealy ISD Superintendent Scott Kana.
The superintendent said the last time the schools flooded was back in 1998.
