HOUSTON -- A sinkhole is causing problems in southeast Houston.
It’s located next to the feeder road along the South Loop and Holt Street.
Crews have been working to fix the hole since Monday night. They had to widen it from three feet to 12 feet because of a broken sewer line.
Officials said the sinkhole opened up after the line broke, which most likely happened because of Saturday’s storms.
Crews say it could take days to repair the sewer line and then weeks to permanently fix the road.
As a safety precaution, the right lane of the eastbound South Loop Frontage Road was closed.
