HOUSTON -- Art Car Parade organizers have pushed back Saturday's start time because of weather concerns.

The wacky wheels will now roll down Allen Parkway at 3 p.m., two hours later than originally planned.

The parade route will open to the public at 1 p.m.

Saturday's forecast calls for thunderstorms in the morning. It should clear up by the afternoon.

This is the 26th year for the fun, fabulous and free event.

The parade kicked off in 1988 with 40 cars and 2,000 spectators.

The 2013 event willl feature 250 vehicles and a crowd of around 250,000 people is expected.

Houston was the first, but other cities have added their own parades in recent years.

Here are some photos from the 2012 Art Car Parade.

Enjoy!
