HOUSTON—For the second year in a row, Rice University was ranked number one for having the happiest students in the United States by the Princeton Review’s annual guide to the country’s best colleges.

Rice also got the number two spot for best quality of life, best-run college and students’ love of their school in the Best 377 Colleges list.

The rankings are based on the Princeton Review’s survey of 122,000 students at the colleges profiled in the book.

Rice also placed fifth for relations between the city and university, seventh for lots of race-class interaction and number 13 for financial aid and best athletic facilities.

"We pride ourselves on our sense of community and mutual support, which contribute immensely to the academic success and opportunities that are at the core of our students’ experience," said Rice University President David Leebron in a prepared statement.

Located between Houston’s Medical Center and Museum District, Rice has 3,708 undergraduate students and 2,374 graduate students.
