LEAGUE CITY, Texas — A League City resident is suing the city, claiming the city has used a strip of land next to his house as a dump.
Michael Cyrus filed the lawsuit in the 405th District Court.
Friday, city officials said they are attempting to work with the homeowner to resolve the problem.
The lawsuit states Cyrus and his wife purchased their home on Austin Street almost 20 years ago. While it has been a quiet place to live, the lawsuit states for the past year, the city and its contractor MAR-CON have used city-owned property across a concrete drainage ditch from the Cyrus home as a storage lot and dump.
