THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- An extreme couponing seminar was held Monday evening where attendees learned money saving tips.

Nearly every seat was taken in the class.

Sonya West is a frequent coupon user.

"Some months I have saved as much as $500," West said.

She picked up on a few new tips, including picking up a Sunday newspaper for each person in your family.

Her 20-year-old daughter Lauren West does not like to clip paper coupons. She prefers alternatives - digital coupons, phones and the Internet.

Ivanovsky informed attendees to sign up for loyalty cards at various stores and always price match.

Dieter Kingwergs, 8, attended with his mother.

"I want to be a couponer when I grow up," Kingwergs said.

Some retailers are fighting back against “extreme couponers” by stopping the double and triple coupons.

The next class will be held on July 1.
