GALVESTON — The fatal injuries suffered by a Galveston baker earlier this year occurred when someone hit him with his own SUV in his store’s parking lot, according to an indictment charging the driver with murder.
Juan Navarro, 53, died Jan. 26 after he was hit outside Panaderia Navarro Bakery, 3801 Broadway. On Tuesday, authorities booked Galveston resident Harold Joseph Norwood, 40, into the Galveston County Jail on the murder charge that carried a $250,000 bond.
A grand jury indicted Norwood last month. The indictment accused Norwood of running over Navarro while committing the felony offense of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
