HOUSTON—The Houston City Council has now approved a plan to put parking meters along Washington Avenue. Washington Avenue is a very popular area, with many bars and restaurants, and the plan will charge drivers parking along the street.
It will cost $1 per hour to park in designated spots during the day, then $2 per hour after 6 p.m. There is also the option of paying a flat fee of $7 for the entire night.
More than half of the money collected will be used to make improvements in the area.
