GALVESTON — A roughly 3-foot square of concrete sidewalk collapsed along the seawall, partially blocking safe passage along the popular biking and jogging destination.

The concrete sunk possibly 2 feet into the Galveston’s seawall at 47th Street, but no other areas appeared to be affected.

It’s unclear when the cave-in happened, but Elizabeth Rogers, a spokeswoman for the city of Galveston, noticed it Saturday and said the city would contact the county to have the sidewalk repaired.
