TEXAS CITY — Parents of a youth pitcher seek more than $1 million in a lawsuit filed against Little League Baseball, claiming a line drive hurt their son amid concerns the opposing team used an unlicensed bat.

Little League, however, claimed it consulted with the manufacturer of the metal bat used in the District 14 majors championship game in Texas City on July 1 and found it hadn’t been shaved in an attempt to enhance performance.

Attorney Chance A. McMillan filed a lawsuit Thursday against Little League Baseball and League City Little League in Galveston’s 212th District Court on behalf of Emmett Parsutt Sr. and Elena Parsutt, parents of Emmett Parsutt Jr.
