HOUSTON -- A home break-in on Houston’s southwest side led to a police chase Tuesday afternoon.

A stolen was hanging out of the back of the getaway Cadillac.

Police said a flat screen television and some other electronics were taken from a house located less than two miles from where the chase ended in the 5500 block of Cheltenham.

The suspects got out of the getaway Cadillac and started running.

One suspect got away. The other was taken into police custody.

“He bailed out fled on foot,” said Houston police officer M.T. Jackson. “He was somewhere in one of the backyards. Got on the roof of one of the houses. That's all I know… in hopes he wouldn't get caught, I guess. They think we can't go up there and get them.”

The homeowners showed up and claimed their belongings.

They said this was the second time they’ve been burglarized.

Police are still searching for the second suspect.
