HOUSTON -- Two Jacinto City police officers were shot by a gunman while they responded to a call early Wednesday evening on North Oswego.

The wounded male officer is Lt. Dennis Walker.

According to Jacinto City Police Chief Joe Ayala, Lt. Walker was shot in the chest and airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital. He’s listed in stable condition thanks to a bullet proof vest he was believed to be wearing.

The other wounded officer is Sgt. Jennifer Simpson-Castaneda.

Chief Ayala said Sgt. Simpson was shot in the arm and taken to Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital. She’s also listed in stable condition.

Both officers are expected to recover from their injuries.
